Certified Translations
A certified translation includes a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy — required by USCIS, courts, and most government agencies. Our certified translations include the complete translation, signed certificate, translator qualifications statement, and format matching the original document structure. USCIS requires that any foreign-language document submitted with an immigration application be accompanied by a full English translation with a certification stating the translator is competent to translate and that the translation is complete and accurate.
Documents We Translate
- Immigration: Birth/marriage/divorce/death certificates, passports, police clearances, diplomas, transcripts, employment letters, bank statements
- Legal: Contracts, powers of attorney, affidavits, court orders, corporate documents
- Business: Financial statements, correspondence, technical documentation
How the Process Works
Send or bring the original document (or a clear scan). We review the document, confirm the language pair and page count, and provide a quote before starting. The translation is prepared to match the format and structure of the original, then paired with a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy. Most single-document translations — birth certificates, marriage certificates, diplomas — are completed within two to five business days. Multi-page legal or financial documents may take longer depending on length and complexity.
What Makes a Translation Accepted by USCIS
USCIS does not require a specific credentialing body for translators, but does require that the translation be complete, accurate, and accompanied by a signed certification from the translator. The certification must state the translator's name, confirm their competence in both languages, and attest that the translation is true and accurate. We include all of these elements with every certified translation. Documents submitted without a proper certification are routinely rejected or returned by USCIS adjudicators.
Notarization and Apostille of Translations
Some agencies, courts, or foreign government processes require the translation certification to be notarized. As a Florida Notary Public, we can notarize the translator's certification on the spot, so you do not need a separate appointment or provider. If the document also needs an apostille for use in another country, we handle the full process — notarization, submission to the Florida Secretary of State in Tallahassee, and return shipping to you.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a translation take? Most single-document translations — birth certificates, marriage certificates, diplomas — are completed within two to five business days. Multi-page legal or financial documents may take longer depending on length and complexity.
Do you translate languages other than Albanian, Spanish, and Italian? For other languages, we work with a network of professional translators. We coordinate the translation, prepare the certification, and deliver the final package. Contact us with your language pair and document type for a quote.
Is a notarized translation different from a certified translation? Yes. A certified translation includes a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy from the translator. A notarized translation adds a notary seal to the translator's certification signature. Some agencies and courts require notarization on top of certification — we handle both in one appointment as a Florida Notary Public.
Can I send a photo of the document instead of the original? Yes, as long as all text, stamps, seals, and handwritten entries are legible. A clear scan or high-resolution photo is usually sufficient for translation purposes.
